Mercyhurst University celebrated the grand opening of Studio 26, a new Venture Studio designed to foster innovation, entrepreneurship and collaboration in emerging technology fields.The official ribbon-cutting and opening ceremony took place at 11 a.m. in Studio 26, located on the ground floor of Hammermill Library within the university's Cyber Complex.Studio 26 was created to serve as a hub for students, faculty, industry partners and entrepreneurs working in areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data science and other emerging technologies. The new space is intended to encourage innovation and strengthen connections between academia and industry, while providing opportunities for collaboration on technology-driven projects and initiatives.Community partners, colleagues and members of the public attended the grand opening to learn more about the Venture Studio's mission and future plans.The opening of Studio 26 marks an important milestone for Mercyhurst and reflects the institution's ongoing commitment to preparing students for careers in rapidly evolving technology fields while supporting economic and workforce development in the Erie region.
